“It’s never Larson’s fault,” NASCAR Twitter in splits as Kyle Larson spins Martin Truex Jr. at Miami to win his third race of the season

Kyle Larson had a near-perfect day at Homestead. He won his third race of the season dominating the final laps. He was favored by the battle for P2 among Ross Chastain and AJ Allmendinger. Larson was left free upfront and cruised to an easy win.
Kyle Larson’s win, just like every other win he had this season, was controversial. He spun Martin Truex Jr. in the pit road under caution. At the time of the incident, Truex was the race leader. If the caution didn’t come out Truex would have won the race as he had a two-second advantage over Larson before pitting.
Kyle Larson in his post-race interview pointed out that the incident was caused by the sudden breaking of Truex and he doesn’t believe it is his fault. He said, “I was just going behind him, and he had a hard left and was hard on the brakes at the same time, and I ran right into the back of him. My team said he was late turning into his stall, but if it was my fault, I’m sorry. I don’t think it was,”.
Martin Truex Jr. said he is to partly blame for the incident as it happened because he spotted his pit late. He said, “I did see my box late, for sure. So I slowed down before I turned out of the way of the No. 5 there. Obviously partly on me. I didn’t expect to get turned around,”.
How NASCAR Twitter reacted to the incident
Fans on Twitter were split as they took sides on which driver to blame for the incident. Some pointed out that Truex is the culprit as he spotted his pit very late and caused the incident. Few claimed that it was Larson’s fault and accused him of speeding just before the spin. There were also claims of NASCAR’s bias against Larson as some said the organization won’t penalize the 2022 champion if it is his fault.
