Hendrick Motorsports is the world’s most accomplished Stock Car racing team and has employed some of the greatest racers ever. This list includes the likes of seven-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson and four-time Cup champion Jeff Gordon. 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson is currently the best on their team and has the prowess to one day enter the list of the GOATs of the sport.

This is Larson’s goal for himself, as he wants to prove the people who acknowledged his superior talent right. Gordon, now the VC of HMS, made the revelation in a snippet of the NASCAR Netflix Docu-Series shared via Kyle Larson’s social media. Gordon shared his opinion on Larson in the episode featuring the 2023 season finale.

When you have many people that are praising you for your talent, then you feel like you have to live up to that. He wants to be known as one of the greatest of all time.
Gordon said via NASCAR: Full Speed.

Larson missed the 2023 championship after finishing P3 behind champion Ryan Blaney in the finale. He was one of the most consistent drivers last year and had one of the best cars, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Team Penske driver. Going into 2024, he seeks redemption and another shot at a legacy-defining second Cup title.

His sprint car racing series, High Limit Racing, expanded its operations in 2024 after buying Tony Stewart’s All-Star Racing series. Larson might also be making some late-model dirt race entries next season.
