Two times NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano is going through one of the toughest patches of his career.  Since securing the 2022 Cup title with an impressive five race-win season, Logano has been struggling to produce solid runs owing to the lack of pace and poor execution on the track with the No:22 Ford Mustang.

Joey Logano, who is yet to secure a top-5 finish this season, recently talked about bouncing back from the poor streak. He admitted that the journey back to the top won’t be easy and it would be slow. The No:22 driver has to get back to his form with consistent performance and slowly grinding out points.

It’s a slow climb back to the top — it always is. But you have to start slowly, grabbing the little victories here and there. Little things that we’re doing well on and off the track. And there is, and we’re slowing grabbing some points back up through the ranks a little bit.
Joey Logano told RACER.

It has been the worst start to a Cup season he has had ever since joining Team Penske back in 2013. Even last season, which was tough for the No:22 team, he had already secured a win and a playoff spot. He is hopeful that he would be able to overcome the slump and get a positive momentum next week at Richmond.

Joey Logano has huge hopes for the race at Richmond, his favourite track

Loagno in the same interview pointed out that Richmond Raceway has always been his favourite track and he is hopeful about what’s ahead of him. He is hopeful he could be able to continue his strong performance and produce a good point finish or hopefully a win in the coming week.

We’re going to Richmond this weekend (and) that is one of my favorite racetracks, one of our best racetracks — maybe our best racetrack as the 22 team. So I look forward to having a solid run there, scoring some stage points, putting ourselves in position to win. That’ll be key. I feel more confident at Richmond than I have at really any other track this year, so hopefully we can have a solid run.
Joey Logano said.

The coming weekend at Richmond would be a great race for Logano to make a comeback as experience would be big factor on Sunday as the track would probably offer a similar tier wear like at Bristol. If he is able to secure at least top-5 finish, the team can sure hope for a bounce back soon and get back to the championship-contention level he deserves to be at.
