Team Penske Racing Joey Logano didn’t mince his words as he responded to ex-NASCAR spotter and podcast host Brett Griffin. The two-time Cup champion was angered and frustrated by the curse words ridden criticism from Griffin over his recent comments claiming NASCAR fans are spoiled because they have a lot of access to the driver.

Logano was trying to highlight how much access the premier stock car racing fans have now compared to their counterparts in every other series. Griffin, who works as a co-host of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, which is produced by Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dirt Mo Media, was seemly angered by Logano’s comments.

He called Logano a “massive piece of ****” via his podcast and there were a lot of attacks aimed at him that mentioned him staying away from fans post-COVID and even mentioned that Logano is from a wealthy family while giving his take. Logano felt his character was being attacked and replied with similar intensity.

When I hear what Brett Griffin said on that (Door Bumper Clear) podcast, attacking my character, just made me say, ‘This guy does not know and he has a microphone.’ And it’s a bad feeling to hear all of that. That somebody will make up things to get attention.

Joey Logano claims he was a victim of click-baiting

Logano went to question the intentions of Griffin and his profanity-laced attack. He claimed that it was the want for attention that made the ex-NASCAR spotter say those things as it gave him more listeners.

He pointed out that now to make money in the media, one has to give opinions that are edgy and what people want to listen to. He pointed out that with the click his words were taken out of context and it made him frustrated a lot.

How do you make money if you’re in media? People gotta listen. And how you going to get people to listen? You got to put some edgy stuff out there to get clickbait and get people to listen. Unfortunately, I was a target of that because of a comment that was taken out of context. That was the frustrating part.
