Kyle Larson who drives the No.5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports as a full-time Cup Series driver has had a pretty decent season this year as the defending champion after winning the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Championship and he has fallen prey to the loose wheel curse last week at the second road-course event of 2022, the Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway with 27 laps to go off turn 1 for the end of Stage 1.

Kyle Larson has had a lesser impactful season this year but it isn’t that bad either as he acquired a playoff spot by winning the Auto Club 400 at the Auto Club Speedway which is also known as Fontana and he also grabbed six top 5s this season along with two top 10s and two top 15s while he also got disqualified five times but that will not be an issue given his skills behind the wheel and on the track.

Kyle Larson losing his wheel in the Toyota Save Mart 350 will result in the indefinite suspension of crew chief, Cliff Daniels and jackman and tire changer for the next four upcoming races at Nashville Superspeedway, Road America, Atlanta Motor Speedway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Kevin Meendering will serve as the stand-in crew chief for the scheduled four races and he also has a good track-record with the team.

Meendering has achieved three Cup Series wins in 21 starts as a crew chief with Hendrick Motorsports and he also has thirty-nine top 5s and seventy-seven top 10s in the Xfinity Series along with him leading Elliott Sadler of JRM to the Xfinity Series Championship in 2017 along with three top 5 finishes in the points table in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Larson and Meendering will compete in both the Cup Series and Xfinity Series at Road America.

Hendrick Motorsports announced on Monday that Kevin Meendering will replace Cliff Daniels as the crew chief for the next four races as a result of his suspension for a loose wheel fans did not take this revelation positively and they started calling out Meendering and claimed his skills as a crew chief are terrible whereas some said that he will just be the decoy for Daniels who will take care of everything from someplace else.

Many fans also called out his horrible mistakes as a crew chief which apparently cost Jimmie Johnson a lot whereas few were not bothered by the fact as they think it won’t be a problem whereas few called out NASCAR saying that the suspension of crew chief for a loose wheel is ridiculous and that they have to change the rules instead of forcing teams to look for replacements of crew chiefs and crew members, and the also didn’t like how NASCAR is blaming the crew chief who has nothing to do with a loose wheel.
