The Kyle Larson-Ross Chastain saga is the latest rivalry that’s in the making in the premier stock car racing division. Hendrick Motorsports 2021 Cup champion Larson is the latest among many drivers to get into an on-track tussle with the Trackhouse Racing driver this season. The rivalry has gone beyond just two drivers now; the crew is showing animosity as well.

Kyle Larson was on double duty during the Darlington race weekend. Alongside his Cup ride, he drove the No:10 Kaulig Racing Chevy in the Xfinity series. He won the race after he bounced off the wall and took out John Hunter Nemechek. Larson celebrated the win with a small crowd in the victory lane, which rarely happens in the series. The pit crew of the No:10 team was missing.

It is reported that the No:10 crew refused to attend Larson’s victory lane celebration because of his beef with Ross Chastain. The No:10 crew is the crew of the Trackhouse No:1 team of Chastain. It’s claimed that Larson showed ‘the finger’ to the crew at Dover a couple of weeks ago, and the team wanted to get back on him. A tweet from Couch Racer, an account operated by NASCAR spotters associated with the Door Bumper Clear podcast, fuelled the speculation.

“Why is victory lane so empty? The 10 Xfinity Pit Crew is also the 1 Cup pit crew. Apparently, Larson gave them a hand gesture after the incident in Dover. So they boycotted coming to victory lane in Darlington. Disrespectful or loyal?” Couch Racer wrote on Twitter.

The Chevy duo has had three encounters on the track this year, and Larson suffered the most damage during all those incidents. Darlington crash from Sunday was the only time where Chastain has come out with a poor result.

In their first two clashes, the No:5 was just an innocent bystander who was the victim of Chastain’s cash with other drivers. The first one was in Talladega, where Chastain wrecked Ryan Preece, who collected the No:5 Chevy. Larson’s car was severely damaged, ending a promising day for him.

The second clash occurred in Dover just one week after, which saw Chastain wrecking RWR part-time driver Brennan Poole. Larson was collected in the crash, and yet again, he left home disappointed even after having a fast car. The third crash occurs on last Sunday at Darlington while both were on the lead.
