Semi-retired NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace will make his CARS Tour debut at South Boston Speedway on October 7. He was initially scheduled to debut at the Tri-County Motor Speedway, but the event was postponed to August, forcing Wallace to change his racing schedule. So he chooses Boston as the venue for his much-awaited maiden race.
The young brother of Rusty Wallace and Mike Wallace, Kenny has had a solid career in the top two divisions of NASCAR. He has scored nine wins in the Cup series but was never able to emulate it in the Cup. While he accomplished less on the track compared to his brother, Kenny Wallace is the most renowned. He has made a career as a racing pundit and has a strongly growing YouTube channel as well.
“I’m excited to be going back to South Boston for a lot of reasons. It’s the home of R&S Race Cars, but I just feel like I’m returning home, so to speak. I raced there so much in the NASCAR [Xfinity] Series back in the day, so it just feels right, and I’m really looking forward to heading back there,” Wallace said about his debut.
In his return to pavement racing, he will have a strong car, as he has been spending most of his time racing in dirt tracks over the years. He will drive in vehicles fielded by R&S Race Cars. The team currently fields cars for three times Late Model Stock Car Tour champion Bobby McCarty and teammate Conner Jones.

Kenny Wallace claims that he is capable of winning the race at 60

Wallace, while talking about his expectation for the race pointed out that, although he will turn 60 before entering the race, he is capable of winning it He also added that he is proud to be one of the selected group of drivers who are able to race at this age.
“I can win any race I enter. I would not be racing at my age if I didn’t feel like I could compete. When I arrive in South Boston, I’ll officially be 60 years old. There aren’t many people my age racing in the CARS Tour. We’re a rare group, but I’m all jacked up on Sun Drop and ready to go,” Wallace said.
R&S Race Cars have a lot of expectations for Wallace. The team owner Marcus Richmond pointed out that he feels fortunate enough to give an opportunity to a driver that has a huge influence in the racing community like Kenny Wallace.
“This is such an incredible opportunity for everyone at R&S Race Cars. Kenny has always been one of racing’s most excitable personalities and his impact on the sport can still be seen today. I’ve always had a tremendous amount of respect for him and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in one of our cars,” Richmond said.
