2014 NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick retired from the sport in 2023 after becoming one of the greatest names of sport with career that span over two decades in the top tier. Unfortunately, his farewell season was one of the worst he ever had, but there were a lot of people that came to support him in those tough times and one of those was none other than NBA legend Michael Jordan.
Recently, Kevin Harvick spoke about how 23XI Racing co-owner Michael Jordan gave him a wholesome pep-talk after the elimination in the Round of 16 of the Cup Series playoffs at Bristol following a “absolutely miserable” P29 finish. On his Happy Hours with Harvick Podcast he asserted that the NBA legend made him feel better and more stable after the shock elimination.

Last year we were at Bristol, and we had just had an absolutely miserable day. And I’m walking out with my head down. And then all of a sudden, this big hand just reaches up behind me and grabs my neck. And he said, ‘Boy, you don’t have anything to be worried about.’ And I look back and I’m like, ‘Holy s—, that’s Michael Jordan.’ He grabs my neck, and he says, ‘You’ve had one hell of a career, son. You need to pick your head up.’Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hours Podcast.
Harvick seemed to really feel better after his talk with Michael Jordan. The NBA legend was also commended by Harvick as he said that Jordan is one of the most normal and appreciative human beings ever. The moment was simply one sports great acknowledging the great of another sport and Jordan’s co-owner at 23XI, Denny Hamlin has the same feelings.
