The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season finale not only marked the coronation of Ryan Blaney as the champion and legend of the sport but also marked the end final race of 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick. The Ford veteran who came to the sport as Dale Sr.’s replacement retired after two decades of racing and winning titles.

His retirement tour saw him getting honored every week with special tributes and it hasn’t yet stopped. The Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, California has shown the ultimate respect by renaming the track to Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. The move was made possible with the take of the new ownership group involving Tim & Lisa Huddleston.

Harvick, responding to the newly bestowed honor claimed that he is committed to giving back to the community of Bakersfield, his hometown. He promises to do everything in his power to make racing better and bright in the city.

New track CEO reveals how Kevin Harvick’s involvement will be a game-changer

Tim Huddleston the new CEO of the track believes that Harvick’s involvement and expertise will propel the track to new heights. He pointed out that their shared goal is to have electrifying races for the fans as well as the drivers.

Kevin Harvick’s involvement is a game-changer for Kern Raceway. His expertise and commitment will propel us to new heights. Together, we aim to create an electrifying racing experience for fans and competitors alike.

Along with the track name change, the team will also honor the late Charlie Beard. He has made significant contributions towards building and operating the track. The current Suit tower of the track will be renamed in his honor.

Their contributions have laid the foundation for the Raceway’s success, a legacy that our team is honored to continue. In honor of the late Charlie Beard and his work in bringing KCRP to life, the suite tower will be re-named The Charlie Beard Tower effective immediately.
