Kevin Harvick is one of NASCAR’s biggest personalities. Racing for almost three decades, he had announced that 2023 would be his final season before retirement. As he prepares to take his hand off the wheel finally, different communities in NASCAR have shown their respect in their way. Most recently, the Homestead-Miami Speedway announced they would be naming the race after him.

The race at Homestead this season is titled the 4EVER 400, Presented by Mobil 1. The name has been selected for Kevin Harvick’s No: Four Ford Mustang. Homestead is also a special place for Harvick since he won his 2014 Cup Championship in his first season for SHR. The president of the Homestead-Miami Speedway, Al Garcia, also expressed his contentment with the same.

Homestead will host the second race of the R-8 of the Cup Series Playoffs this season. The track has 18 to 20 degrees of banking on the turns and is 2.41 km long. Kyle Larson won the race at Homestead last season.

Kevin Harvick claims to have brushed off his Talladega DQ quite easily

Kevin Harvick almost took his first victory of the season at Talladega. However, Ryan Blaney got the edge as he finished just 0.012 seconds ahead of Harvick. While Harvick was getting accustomed to his second place, NASCAR hit him with a DQ, which dropped him straight to the bottom of the leaderboard. Harvick recently opened up about the incident, saying he did not lose much sleep over it.

Harvick was disqualified from the race due to his windshield being unsecured. He said that he did his job entirely and that the external factors were not in his control. Even NASCAR made a statement where their representative said that they don’t enjoy disqualifying the competitors, but they were left with no choice.

“I did my job and the rest of it is open for debate as to who did what and the rules good or bad or I don’t know. I don’t know all the scenarios from either side. I didn’t cry myself to sleep over that,” said Harvick.
