Former NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series champion Kevin Harvick drives the No.4 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing. The 47-year-old has accomplished everything there is in the sport. He’s run 803 races over 23 years in the Cup Series. Harvick has 60 wins and 437 top-ten finishes in his Cup career. As they say, the apple does not fall far from the tree. Harvick’s son Keelan is also passionate about racing.

He was just a baby when his father, Kevin Harvick, won the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship. While most children would like to follow in their parent’s footsteps, Keelan Harvick wants to make a name for himself. The 10-year-old expressed his desire to become a Formula 1 driver. It explains why he was overjoyed when he met Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc

Keelan Harvick was thrilled to meet Leclerc and shared an image of them on Twitter. He tweeted, “Decent weekend on track with another top 5, but an even better weekend off track! Looks like I’m going to have to get a new helmet!” The 10-year-old was excited to meet the Ferrari star and get his helmet signed. It is safe to say the young man is having fun both on and off track.

Keelan Harvick is focused on his future. He knows what he wants. He stated, “My dad already built his name in NASCAR. I want to build something different. I want to go to F1.” Kevin explained that his son understands more about racing than most kids because he has been around it all his life. There is no doubt that he would support his son in whichever career path he chooses to go.

Kevin Harvick is set to retire at the end of the 2023 NASCAR season. His final race will be at Phoenix Raceway in November.  He announced his retirement by saying, “It’s time to call time, to enjoy all that we’ve achieved as a race team, and to savor it with the ones who have made this journey possible. A new chapter is calling. One where being a dad and a husband takes precedence over being a driver.”

Harvick is the driver with the longest career in the Cup Series. His 121 wins across the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Camping World Truck Series rank him third in NASCAR history, only behind Richard Petty and Kyle Busch. Kevin Harvick’s contributions to the sport will not be forgotten. After his retirement, he will have more time to help Keelan become a better driver and fulfill his dreams of becoming a Formula 1 driver.
