Two times NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch had an eventful race last weekend at COTA. He had a clash with his former JGR teammate Christopher Bell on lap 41 of the race that cost him a top-5 finish. The frustrated Bush later had a heated confrontation with the No:20 Camry driver after the race.

Kyle Busch, during the confrontation, promised Christopher Bell payback soon for the actions and now ahead of the race at Richmond this Sunday has admitted that he feels bit off when drivers that came through his Truck Series team KBM are racing him without respect as he believes he shouldn’t be races 10% hard by the racers to whom he was once a mentor.

When you’re racing against guys that have come through KBM, and you’ve helped them along the way and you feel as though they’re taking that extra 10% rather than giving a little bit out of respect. But everybody’s got their own race out there, and they try to do what they got to do. But, obviously, Christopher’s in really good stuff at a really good place, and he needs to understand that.
Kyle Busch said via RACER.

Busch and Bell did attempt to sort out the issues between them with a phone conversation ahead of the race weekend but it hasn’t yet made the veteran’s head cool. He as confirmed that he would race the JGR driver hard till he admits he was wrong to move him out of the way at COTA.

Christopher Bell is hoping to win at Richmond despite Kyle Busch’s warning

Bell is super confident going into this weekend’s race at Richmond. He has big hopes considering the JGR cars have always been consistently fast at the track. The Toyota driver believes he has a strong shot at securing the victory on Sunday.

I just like driving for JGR here. Their resume speaks for itself and the cars are super, super fast. This is arguably JGR’s best racetrack, so I just love going to racetracks where I know I’m going to have a shot at it
Christopher Bell said.

Bell’s claims are valid and he has a good shot at winning the race. But that doesn’t mean he gets to overlook Busch’s threat as the veteran is willing to hurt his former teammate at the right moment and he have to be careful to not give such an opportunity to the RCR driver on Sunday.
