Kyle Busch will join RCR at the end of 2022, ending his 15-year-long stay at Joe Gibbs Racing. The TRD veteran was forced to make the Chevy move by JGR. The top Toyota team failed to offer Busch a feasible contract extension. They also failed to find a suitable replacement for Busch’s departing sponsor MARS.

Fans, as well as the driver, were disappointed by JGR’s move. None expected the team to part ways with their best driver ever in such a manner. Though he was happy with the RCR move, Busch was disappointed with JGR. In the latest episode (8th episode)  of the NASCAR documentary series “Race for the Championship,” Busch opened up about the disappointment.

Kyle Busch pointed out that the whole contract situation with JGR was disappointing and hurtful for him. He felt like Joe Gibbs who had his back during the stupidest times of his career, just flipped and gave up on him. It was an experience Busch never expected to be part of after being in the JGR family for 15 years.

Something so disappointing to me, and so hurtful about this whole situation with JGR, is they were like family. For 15 years, Joe had my back in the stupidest of moments that Kyle Busch was. Like, he was there for me and it’s gone. It just flipped and went and it’s like nothing I’ve ever been a part of,” Kyle Busch said.

Kyle Busch pointed out that the No:18 team has been solid in Miami over the last ten races contested there. He hopes to see the Camry back in the victory lane. Bush pointed out that he wants to secure one more cup race win for JGR and sponsor MARS as this is their last season together.

We’ve been very good there (Homestead) the last 10 races or so and hoping we can get our Camry TRD back to victory lane there. Would be special to get one more win with JGR and with Mars before we close the season out together,” Kyle Busch said.

Kyle Busch pointed out that it’s challenging to race in Miami. He said that there is uncertainty over possible changes on the track from the start of the race to the end. Busch added that drivers are forced always be thoughtful at the track since they are moving around the lanes to find pace.

It’s really challenging because of the way the race changes from the beginning to the end and the way things change from the beginning to the end of your runs. You run to the bottom, then you go to the top. You’re always moving around. You’re always thinking,” Kyle Busch added.
