Kyle Busch, the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, entered an elite list. The Richard Childress Racing driver and Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) team owner has had three wins across 11 NASCAR seasons. He is one of the nine drivers on the list. This comes after his third win of the 2023 Cup Series season at Gateway Motorsports Park on June 4th.

It is the first time since 2019 that Kyle Busch has had three or more wins. It was one of his best years, as he won his second NASCAR Cup title. Busch was driving with Joe Gibbs Racing back then and claimed five wins that season. This year is off to a good start for the RCR driver. His first win of the season came at the Auto Club Speedway. Kyle Busch won his second race, the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Busch also had a decent run at the Sonoma Raceway last weekend. The 38-year-old finished second behind Martin Truex Jr. His accomplishments this season put him on the elite list. Kyle Busch is now among the big names to have an impeccable record. NASCAR’s official Twitter handle shared an image of him acknowledging his achievements. The post read, “Kyle Busch is now one of the nine drivers to have won three or more races in 11 different seasons.”

Richard Petty dominated the list by winning three or more races across 20 seasons. He is followed by Jimmie Johnson with wins in 15 seasons and Jeff Gordon in 14 seasons. Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough are tied at more than three race wins across 13 seasons. They are followed by Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip, who have had multiple wins over 12 seasons. Kyle Busch is the latest to join the record and shares the place with David Pearson.

Though the 2023 Cup Series season has started well for Busch, he and his crew chief Randall Burnett claim there is still plenty of work to improve. The duo realizes they should stay focused if Busch wants to win his third Cup Series title. After his third race win this year, Kyle Busch stated, “We’ve had some really good runs. We’ve had three wins obviously, which is great. But we’ve also had some of the dismal days as well.”

Kyle Busch claimed RCR has been fighting hard and doing a great job on track. Though it is Busch’s first season with the team, they seem to be working well together. This is not to say that they haven’t had setbacks, but the team believes they have the potential to win another title.

Busch’s crew chief also revealed that he had adapted well to the No:8 team. Things are looking up for “The Candy Man.” He is currently sixth in the Cup Series standings. The question is will he get that third title this season?
