The NASCAR cup series grid will hit the track running this weekend at Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by Barstool Sportsbook, the second round of post-season racing of 2022. The race is expected to produce a comeback from the 16-man playoff grid as they missed out on the victory last week at Darlington.

Going into the Kansas City track Toyota contingent will be high on confidence as they have been historically good at the track and the No:45 Toyota Camry driver of 23X1 Racing, Kurt Busch was the one who rode to victory lane in the regular season race at the track. These stats put all three playoff contenders and the other three drivers of team Toyota in the spotlight for Sunday.

Kyle Busch, the main man of Toyota, will be without a doubt one of the contenders of this weekend as he will be hoping to secure a top finish as a redemption for his disappointing finish at Darlington after his engine blew out. Though he had a similar experience on the regular season brace at the track he expects a comeback at the track where he had bagged two wins.

Kyle Busch does not have an easy way to the victory lane at Kansas as the track and he has a history of back and forth. Busch had a tough going at the track following the renovation that took place on 2012. But the veteran was able to make a slow and steady comeback and will be hoping to have a similar run this Sunday also.

Kyle Busch pointed out that one of the most challenging parts about the track is the multi-direction strong wind that is there as it is so unpredictable to prepare for. He added that the winds in huge challenge in deciding which corners to attack during the race which can have multiple consequences.

The wind always seems like it’s high in Kansas and it will also change directions. It can change directions day to day, so you can practice in one wind direction and you can race in another one. That completely throws off the balance of your racecar and what you are feeling, and which corner of the track you attack the most, so you’ve always got to be leery of that, and we certainly will be this weekend,” Kyle Busch said.

Kyle Busch went on to talk about the hate and love he has for the track as he pointed out that he had been poor in the past but now is relatively good adding he wishes to see the momentum continuing. He added that the re-pavement that was done on the track surely helped him a lot in the near past.

“I would say it’s been –love-hate, I would go more hate-love. It started out bad and has been good lately. We will hopefully keep that going in our favor. This place was trickier for me with the old asphalt, but since they repaved it, it seems to have come into more where I’m understanding it. I feel like we’ve got a good shot at continuing that – that good run tradition – and doing well this weekend,” Kyle Busch added.

Kyle Busch went on to give his opinion of racing on the track when asked about the feeling of arcing there and acknowledged that the Kansas track has been a good place for the sport. He pointed out at the community and engagement the track brought to NASCAR and added that he is looking forward to having a good race there.

Kansas has been a good place for our sport. You know, the crowd, the reception, the infrastructure, the community all have really built up around the racetrack there over the last 15 years or so. It’s been a lot of fun to see all that happen and I’m looking forward to the race. It’s been a great racetrack for us, lately. We’ve had some good runs there once the track aged,” Kyle Busch explained.
