Social media’s pros and cons have been a topic of discussion for a long time in many circles. While for some, it is just a source of entertainment, it is a business avenue for many as well. Recently, Richard Childress‘ NASCAR Cup driver Kyle Busch revealed his distaste towards social media.

Busch was asked in a press conference regarding his views on social media as a parent. He said he does not like social media at all and is only present on it due to his job. The various sponsorships require the driver to make a presence on social media to increase engagement.

“Well I mean there’s two sides to that and probably more. Yeah, I mean the social media piece, that’s tough. Honestly, I hate social media. I wouldn’t be on it if I didn’t have to be on it. That’s just the nature of our business and what we do right now with sponsors and everything else,” Busch said before the Watkins Glen Cup race.

Busch also said that his eight-year-old son, Brexton is not yet aware of social media. He said they still haven’t provided him with a cell phone and expressed his disagreement with parents who provide phones to children under 16.

The Busch brothers had a major falling out in 2007. Kyle Busch, who drove a #5 HMS Chevy collided with Kurt Busch, who was driving a #2 Penske. Their wrecking of each other caused the brothers to miss out on a million dollars. Kyle Busch recently revealed the brothers’ fight and how it was resolved.

The two time NASCAR Cup champion said that his older brother blamed him for the incident for nearly ten years before he admitted that the collision was his fault. He revealed that during an event at their grandmother’s place, the two brothers finally reconciled.

“He [Kurt] blamed me for the wreck for about 10 years and then he finally came around and admitted that he crashed me in that wreck and that it was his fault… We didn’t talk for a year, a year and a half… I hated him,” said Busch.

“So we were there together and we had dinner with Grandma, So that was kind of finally when we started talking again. And our relationship’s gone back and we’ve been good since,” he added.
