Two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch’s Truck Series team, Kyle Busch Motorsports, has filed a lawsuit against Rev Racing. They are the competition arm of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity initiative that hopes to make the sport more inclusive. KBM is seeking $325,000 in unpaid fees from the 2023 season.

KBM fielded cars for Rev Racing’s Mexican driver, Nick Sanchez, in the 2023 season. Rev Racing agreed to pay KBM $2.9 million to let their driver compete at the high level. But despite the 2024 season getting started, the full payment hasn’t been done, according to the reports from the Charlotte Business Journal. Either the driver or the team has to pay $325K.

it is reported that the failure in payment by Rev Racing is due to an accounting error, and the issue will be sorted out soon. KBM provided Trucks to help Sanchez finish P6 in the championship last season, and the team has higher hopes for 2024. So, the Max Siegel-owned team must end the issues soon.

America First Legal, a firm led by lawyer Stephen Miller, filed a lawsuit against NASCAR Drive for Diversity program and Rev Racing. They alleged that the project discriminated against white males and was unconstitutional, as per the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The same firm had previously filed a lawsuit against MLB, Starbucks, McDonalds…etc.

Kyle Busch and Nick Sanchez are set to be teammates in 2024

The RCR driver, who has sued Sanchez and his team, is in for some awkward moments in the 2024 season as they would be teammates for five races. Busch is set to drive for Spire Motorsports for selected races, starting from the Atlanta race this week.

KBM sold its assets to Spire Motorsport, including the race shop in the silly season. Now, both Sanchez and Busch find a new home in Spire. So, they are in for some awkward encounters if the situation is not sorted out earlier.

Sanchez had a strong start to his 2024 season, winning the season opener at Daytona and securing the first playoff spot. He hopes to continue the form and fight for the championship with Spire, who was in the Championship-4 last year with Carson Hocevar.
