Kyle Larson though disappointed with his cup playoff exit has some good news regarding his racing future. The 2022 Champion had never backed away from a racing challenge. An Indy500 entry has always been on the HMS driver’s bucket list. But he never had the opportunity or permission to pursue the dream from his cup teams.

Kyle Larson has long been an admirer of Indy500. The IndyCar race is one of the iconic open-wheel racing races on the motorsports racing map. Larson had previously approached his boss Rick Hendrick for permission to look for a ride. He was restrained from doing it last year and this season as well.

Kyle Larson on Saturday revealed at Chaolite, ahead of the playoff race, that he has gotten the green signal to look for an Indy500 ride from the boss and HMS vice-chairman Jeff Gordon. Along with Larson Kyle Busch might also make his Indy500 debut in 2023 as he also has the green signal to do so after his RCR move.

Kyle Larson said that he loves to one day race in the indy500. He added that he likes to do it with the best equipment possible with the best crew available. Larson added that he had a conversation with Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon regarding his Brickyard race entry.

I would love to do it. I want to be in the best equipment possible, the best crew. I mentioned to Jeff and Rick that I would like to do it (but) I also did it a year ago too,” Kyle Larson said.

Kyle Larson pointed out that he wanted Hendrick and Gordon to find the best possible ride for him. He added his boss didn’t want me to peruse it this season but has permitted him to do it in the future.

I told Jeff and Rick that I would like to do it and it’s up to them to find something. Rick didn’t want me doing it this year but (said) in the future, I could,” Kyle Larson added.
