Bubba Wallace had to hold his breath until the last round of the regular series in Daytona, when he finally secured his place in the playoffs. While he may be happy about the fact he got through, things might not be so easy for him in the future, as former NASCAR driver Kyle Petty has pointed out some of the difficulties he might face.
Petty said that Darlington, the first of the 10 post-season races , is very important race since it will be essential for everyone to score points. He pointed out that it will be extremely difficult for the bottom four drivers, namely Michael McDowell, Ricky Stenhouse, Kevin Harvick, and Bubba Wallace, to garner some points as he is not worried about the top guys.
“So, in this round, each one of these drivers has to come out of this round with as many points as possible. Or that elusive win… IF I look at Kevin and Michael and Bubba and Rickey Stenhouse, it’s going to be tough for those guys, I believe to win in this first round. They’ve gotta garner as many points as they can,” Petty told NBC (H&T: Pro Talk)

Kyle Petty delivers a ‘sad’ statement for Kevin Harvick
Kevin Harvick has had a long career in NASCAR, which will finally end this year at Phoenix. He has won the 2014 Cup Series, along with the 2001 and 2006 Xfinity series. Even though he has qualified for the playoffs this season as well, his prospects don’t look very good, as Kyle Petty has given his blunt views on his situation.
Harvick just qualified for the playoffs on points. With zero wins and six top-five finishes, Petty believes that it might be too much for Harvick to take another championship win this time around. Petty claimed he is a big fan of Harvick, but his and SHR’s overall season does not provide solid ground for them to do good post-season.
“I want Kevin Harvick to make it to the Final 4 so bad, so freaking bad. I can’t even tell you… SHR and Kevin Harvick has not shown me anything that lets me know that they’re going to make it out of the first round, and that’s a sad statement,” said Petty.
