Tyler Reddick, the driver of the No. 8 Chevy Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing, experienced his career-high run during NASCAR’s session on the 4.048-mile Road America track. Reddick broke his streak of 91 one-race Cup appearances in which he had never won a race but had five P2 places throughout the course of those appearances, which included his Cup debut. On the Road America, though, nobody could catch up to Reddick as he demonstrated his value and may have even guaranteed his playoff berth with the victory.

The highlight of the day was Tyler Reddick and Chase Elliott‘s competitive race in the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Camaro ZL1, as Reddick overtook Elliott, who had won the pole position, after starting the race on P4. The rival duo dominated the rest of the field with their run but it was Reddick who came out on top at the end as he was able to lead the race for the first time in lap 47 which he held on to until the race came to an end.

Chase Elliott was in pursuit of equalling the record of second-most race wins in the road courses held by legend Tony Stewart who is just one win short of the record holder, Jeff Gordon, with 9 wins. The win has made sure a definite playoff spot for Reddick if things all go right for him from now on which wasn’t the case last time around the same time when he came to race at the tracks, he was back then was battling for all the points he can get to secure the playoff.
