The No. 34 Ford Mustang Front Row Motorsports (FRM) driver, Michael McDowell, was over the moon after his epic victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He and his family were the latest members to kiss the bricks in Verizon 200 At The Brickyard on Sunday. The FRM driver secured a win in the 24th race of the 2023 NASCAR Cup season.

Even more special is that he secured a playoff spot with his first victory of the year. McDowell and his family celebrated his win by honoring the track’s kissing-the-bricks tradition. It is one of the most famous rituals in NASCAR and was started by the iconic Dale Jarrett. In 1996, Jarrett and crew chief Todd Parrot kissed the track after their win. That’s how this tradition was born, and to date, they follow it.

Michael McDowell dominated the field at IMS by leading 54 of the 82 laps. He fought against one of the best NASCAR road course racers, Chase Elliott, and went on to win.  It was a huge moment for Front Row Motorsports as well. After the race, McDowell told the media that taking the lead and maintaining it shows the team’s strength. However, he, his family, and the team weren’t the only ones who were happy. NASCAR fans reacted to his win and celebrations on social media.
