Austin Cindric is having one of the best cup series debuts a driver can hope for in 2022. The No:2 Team Penske Racing driver started the season with an impressive win in the Iconic Daytona 500. Though he failed to secure another win after that he was one of the most consistent drivers on the grid.

The youngster has already secured the Rookie of the year award, NASCAR just has to officially announce it. He has been consistently finishing inside the top 20 in the last six races. The presence of his teammates Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano in the playoff boosts his chance of progressing to the final round.

Austin Cindric needs a solid win to get into the season finale. To do that, he has to first secure a couple of top 10 finishes, if not a win that can assure his progress to the Round of 8. If he can get into the victory lane in any of the coming six races, a season finale entry is guaranteed.

Austin Cindric, when asked about his Championship-4 entry chances, acknowledged that they can get into the round of 8. He added that to get into the round one has to win a race. The three unique tracks in the third post-season round will be a challenge for the drivers.

I think it’s certainly possible for us to point our way into the Round of 8 from that standpoint, but I think anyone who is in the Round of 8 I think you have to win a race. I think you have to win a race to think that you’re gonna be in the Championship 4, so I think you’ve got three unique racetracks in the Round of 8, but obviously, you’ve got to get there first, but I have thought about it,” Austin Cindric said.

Austin Cindric pointed out that to get into the Championship race he has to be competitive enough to secure a race win. He pointed out that any driver who hopes to progress into the next round needs to secure a win in the Round of 8.

“I think, especially someone in my points position, I’m gonna have to win and I think I’m gonna have to be competitive enough to be racing for wins to expect to be in the Championship 4. That kind of goes without saying, but I think anyone that thinks they’re gonna make the Championship 4 has to be winning races in the Round of 8,” Austin Cindric added.
