‘Not our day, but cool to be back in the All-Star race,’ Erick Jones on his All-Star racing run at Texas as he failed to capitalize the fan vote entry to the final race

NASCAR hit the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday for the Annual All-Star race which saw 24 of the top Cup drivers going hard at each other for the 1 million dollar payday. Alongside 21 previously qualified drivers thanks to their race wins, 3 drivers also made their way into the final race after two of the Daniel Suarez and Ricky Stenhouse jr. topes the open while Erick Jones secured his place toping the fan’s vote.
The No:43 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver for Petty GMS Motorsports finished the race dead last at the finish line securing a P20 finish in the end as four top drivers in the field namely Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, and Ross Chastain failed to finish the race. The No:43 car was never able to put forth a convincing lap through the race as he became just a backmarker.
Now Erick Jones has come forth revealing what he really thinks about his run at the track and how surprised he was about getting a chance to drive in the All-Star race, after he messed up his chances in the open, thanks to the fan’s vote.

Erick Jones appreciated the fans for their support and vote as he acknowledged that he never expected that he would have a shot with the fan vote. He added that the number 43 fans are pretty strong. He went on to say that a blown tire and the balance of the car were a major constrain for him in the open as he failed to contest and close the gap with the leaders upfront.
“Appreciate the fans, thank you. I never thought I would have a shot to win the fan vote, but the No. 43 fans are pretty strong. We struggled a bit in the Open, made some changes for the race, but just couldn’t quite get the balance right to make our way through the field and contend with the leaders, and then we had a blown tire late in the race,” Erick Jones said.
Erick Jones went on to say that it’s cool to get back to the All-Star race though it wasn’t his day. He went on to say that he is looking forward to the Charlotte Coca-Cola 600 next week as the team is putting all the pieces together for a good outing.
“Not our day, but cool to be back in the All-Star race. Looking forward to getting to Charlotte next week and putting all the pieces together for a strong run in the 600,” Erick Jones added.
Erick Jones will be going into the upcoming cup race at Charlotte hoping height be able get a good start tat can help himmbto get a point finish as the struggles of Petty GMS in the midfield continuous.
