“Proud Brother” Kurt Busch rejoices as Kyle Busch’s Fontana win makes them the winningest brother duo in NASCAR
The Busch brothers have a combined 268 race wins in NASCAR national series.
Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch
Kyle Busch’s 61st Cup race win at Fontana, California, was historic and record-breaking. Busch became the active Cup driver with the most cup wins and broke the record for the most consecutive seasons with a win, a record held by 7 times Cup champion Richard Petty. The milestone win also marked the final race at Auto Club Speedway before the reconfiguration.
The two times Cup series champions’ first-ever Cup win for Richard Childress Racing was also special for the Bush family. Kyle and Kurt Busch became the windiest brothers in the Cup series. They were tied with Bobby Allison and Donnie Allison, who also had 94 race wins. Fontana was the 95th win, and the duo is well on its way to scoring the 100th Cup win.
Unlike the Busch brothers, the Allisson’s cup win tally is dominated by Bobby Allison. He scored 84 wins and a championship, while Donnie added 10. Both Busch brothers are NASCAR Cup champions. The 2004 champion Kurt has 34 wins in his Cup career and is currently sidelined due to a concussion. The two times champion Kyle has scored 61 Cup race wins.
Kurt Busch took it to Twitter to share his joy as his brother helped them to secure the record. He wrote, “Proud brother! It takes a lot to make a move and instantly see results. With his win today, we are officially the winningest brother duo in NASCAR history. What an honor,”.

Who are the top 5 winningest brothers in NASCAR, alongside the Busch brothers
NASCAR’s development over the years took place with the help of its strong family roots, and it has produced some impressive siblings who proved themselves on the track. The Buschs, the Waltrips, the Wallaces, Yarboroughs, and the Flocks are some prominent families producing successful sibling racers.
The third most successful racing brothers are Darrell and Michael Waltrip. The 3 times Cup series champion Darrell scored 84 Cup race wins in his career. The Hall of Famer’s brother, Michael, won 4 point paying races and an all-star race in his career. The 88 wins rank the P3 in the lists.
NASCAR pioneers Fonty, Tim, and Bob Flock ranks P4 in the all-time winner’s list. They have scored 62 race wins. Two times Cup champion Tim scored 39 race wins. Fonty had 19 race wins and a championship P2, while Bob scored 4 Cup race wins.
The 5th most successful brother is Herb and Donald Thomas. Hall of Famer Herb Thomas was a dominant force in his prime. The two times cup champion scored 48 wins in his career. Donald Thomas’s career never really took off, and he only scored just one win in his career.
