NASCAR hosted its Throwback Weekend at Darlington on the 8th of May,2022 and with this week comes the tributes to various NASCAR legends through the racers’ paint schemes whose winners are decided by a fan vote across all three formats, the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Truck Series.
NASCAR finally let out the results for the best paint schemes at the “Track Too Tough To Tame” which saw multiple racers give tributes to various NASCAR icons and the fans were left to decide the winner for the best paint scheme across all three NASCAR National Series.
Chase Elliott wins the best NASCAR Cup Series paint scheme
Chase Elliott who drives the No.9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports emerged as the fan-favorite paint scheme for the Cup Series as he paid his tribute to Jimmy Means who now owns a part-time Xfinity series contender team, Jimmy Means Racing with the No.52 Chevrolet Camaro.
Chase Elliott was able to win last week’s DuraMAX Drydene 400 at Dover but he couldn’t replicate the same at Darlington as he finished 5th and ended up winning the best paint-scheme award for the Cup Series.
Jeremy Clements emerged fan-favorite paint scheme for the NASCAR Xfinity Series
Jeremy Clements who sports the No.51 Chevrolet Camaro for his own team Jeremy Clements Racing was polled as the most liked paint scheme for the Xfinity Series as he acclaimed Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Bud Moore with his scheme.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. managed to acquire nine top 10s in his time at the Darlington Raceway while Jeremy Clements achieved three top 10s at the track and has won the fan-favorite scheme at Darlington in the Xfinity Throwback race.
Matt DiBenedetto claims the NASCAR Truck Series paint-scheme
Matt DiBenedetto drives the No.25 Chevrolet Silverado for Rackley WAR and ended up winning the best paint scheme for the Truck Series who competes full-time in the series and has secured three top 10s and had raced his truck paying tribute to Sterling Martin with his paint scheme.
Sterling Martin has had a pretty decent career with about 10 wins and 216 top 10s and has won the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 at Darlington back in 2002.
