200 NASCAR Cup race winner Richard Petty has released a statement on veteran broadcaster Ken Squier’s passing. He died Wednesday night in Waterbury, Vermont. The 88-year-old was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2018 for his contributions to the sport. His time with CBS and his superb storytelling.

Petty, who has raced in multiple events that Squier called from the CBS booth, offered his and the Petty family’s deepest condolences via a statement posted on X. He highlighted the work the legend has done in the sport and his contributions that went beyond professional duties.

Richard Petty’s driver also shared a message on Ken Squier’s passing

Erik Jones, who drives the No:43 car of Legacy Motor Club, which is co-owned by Petty, also responded to the sad passing of Squier. He said via X that Squier would never be replaced and recalled when he was given the “That Jones Boy” nickname.
