NBC Analyst and race commentator Rick Allen has detailed 2012 NASCAR Cup series champion Brad Keselowski’s plan for Rush Fenway Keselowski Racing. The former Team Penske Racing star joined the team in 2022 as a co-owner. He took over the No:6 Ford Mustang and has revolutionized the team known for its inconsistency.

In his recent podcast appearance, Allen discussed the 2023 season, Ryan Blaney’s championship triumph, and more. One of the highlights from the talks was his opinion on RFK Racing and their impressive rise as a top team of the sport in the Next-Gen era. He claimed that Keselowski, who now has the team’s reigns, wants to make them one of the powerhouses.

I think that he has a long-term vision. I think coming in he made some immediate changes that we saw in the first year and the second year. But I think his long-term vision has RFK Racing being a powerhouse in the sport for years to come.
Allen said via BVM Sports.

Allen expected the move from Keselowski to be similar to some veteran drivers who get into team ownership roles at the end of their careers and just spend their final years there without making significant changes. But the determination the Ford star showed and how it reflected on a team in shambles proved him wrong.

How did Brad Keselowski make RFK Racing better?

Allen pointed out that RFK played a significant role in helping Ford stand on their toes amidst a tough season. Ford’s top side, Penske, was struggling till the final five races of the season, where Blaney thrived while another team, SHR, finished winless. If not for RFK’s playoff charge under the lead of Chris Buescher and Keselowski.

You know we’ll make the best of whatever it is.’ I think that is Brad’s mentality. He went into Roush Fenway and said, ‘We’re going to do it differently than you’ve done it before.’ And cleaned everything up, gave people a new outlook on when they come to work.

RFK secured three wins this season thanks to Buescher, who won all three in the regular season. He could go to R-8 in the playoff and finish with 17 top-10s, while his boss Keselowski ended the year with no wins and 16 top-10s. Going into the 2024 season, the veteran will have two set targets, one to be in the title chase second, to end his two-year-long winless run.
