Ross Chastain and Ryan Blaney had a tough battle for a top-3 finish at Las Vegas, which saw the defending Cup champion getting the best out of the Trackhouse Racing driver.  Blaney secured a P3 finish, while Chastain secured P4, behind winner Kyle Larson and Tyler Reddick.

After the race, Chastain took a cheeky dig at Blaney over the late lap blocking and reminded him of their heated battle for victory in last year’s championship-4 race. The No:1 Trackhouse Racing Chevy driver won the race at Phoenix with his massive defense of Blaney in the final laps.

It was a very frustrating experience for Blaney, as while Chastain was fighting for just a race win, the Penske driver was in for the ultimate prize. The race made history as Blaney became the first champion in the playoff era to not win the championship-4 race. The Chevy driver in his post-Vegas race interview mentioned hilariously mocking him.

I knew our balance was going to play into putting two tires on and it did. The 5 [Larson] and I had a few side drafts and knew when we couldn’t get to the lead that we had to play defense and I really just ran as fast as I could there at the end. It was pretty cool to see Blaney blocking me at the end pretty cool to see his evolution with the air blocking. I was proud of him.

The Team Penske Racing driver wasted no time in replying to Ross Chastain. He came across the interview between Bob Pockrass and Chastain that was shared on X, where the four-times Cup race winner took the hilarious jibe.

He reposted the post from Bob Pockrass on X and shared a meme featuring a “it’s ironic” line it showcasing his impressive social media game. Blaney and his close friend Bubba Wallace often have similar hilarious moments on X.

Both Chastain and Blaney have had a strong start to the 2024 season but haven’t yet secured a win. Both will be hoping to secure a win sooner than later, as both are strong championship contenders.
