Ross Chastain’s brother set to make NASCAR Xfinity series debut
Chad Chastain’s Xfinity debut is sponsored by their family business firm.
Ross Chastain and Chad Chastain
Trackhouse Racing No:1 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver Ross Chastain is the hottest property in NASCAR right now. The 2022 Cup championship runners-up proved his worth and championship credential when he was given a solid car for the first time in his Cup career. Chastain scored his first two Cup wins, which was Trackhouse’s first-ever Cup wins in 2022.
Now his younger brother Chad Chastain is set to make his NASCAR Xfinity series debut. He will drive the No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro of DGM Racing in Atlanta. The 24 years old is sponsored by Protect Your Melon campaign, which promotes the use of seatbelts. DGM has previously fielded cars for Ross Chastain in 4 races. The latest came in Auto Club Speedway two weeks ago.
“I’m thrilled to make my NASCAR Xfinity Series debut with DGM Racing, a Florida-based race team, driving a “Protect Your Melon” Chevrolet just like I watched my brother (Ross) do for years. I have a great platform to raise awareness for safe driving, whether on the track or on the roads in the local community and being able to tie that back to our family business is an honor.” Chad Chastain said about his debut.
The Atlanta Xfinity series will mark the 5th NASCAR race of the youngster’s career. He has driven part-time in the Truck series for Niece Motorsports. All of his Truck finches were outside the Top 30, but considering he never had a competitive ride, the results aren’t unexpected. He is one of 5 drivers scheduled to drive the Niece’s Trucks. Ross Chastain also has a part-time deal with the team.

DGM Racing owner Mario Gosselin opens up on Chad Chattian’s signing
Mario Gosselin, the owner of DGM Racing, has pointed out that he is excited to welcome the youngster to the team and is happy to support the cause they are promoting. He also said that the team is happy that they could allow Chad to grow in NASCAR with the ride.
“We’re excited to work with Chad (Chastain). He has done a nice job in the select NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races he has run, and we’re excited to give him the opportunity to continue his growth in NASCAR. The program that both Ross (Chastain) and Chad have put together promoting seat belt safety is fantastic and we’re happy to collaborate with them to bring awareness to this important topic,” Mario Gosselin said.
Can the Chastains become the next Buschs? Most probably, they wouldn’t be able to. While Ross is a definite championship contender for years to come, Chad has less chance of becoming as competitive as their brother. The best sibling pair that could be compared to at the moment is the Truex brothers. While Martin Truex Jr. is already a Cup champion, his brother Ryan Truex is racing part-time in the Xfinity series. Only time will tell where what the duo will achieve in the future.
