The 2024 NASCAR season will mark the full-time debut of three-time V8 supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen in the Xfinity series. He is set to fight for the championship alongside AJ Allmendinger with Kaulig Racing. He was loaned to the team by Trackhouse Racing for the 2024 Season as part of their project to help him secure a Cup seat.

SVG landed a Cup seat after he became an overnight sensation in NASCAR by winning the inaugural Chicago Street Race, driving the Project 91 car of Trackhouse Racing. Justin Marks’ team signed him as a developmental driver alongside Zane Smith. He is set to drive selected Cup and Truck Series races alongside Xfinity events in 2024.

Gisbergen understands he has a lot of changes to face in his debut season, which will include surviving aggressive racing in the ovals. He admitted that there would be instances of mistakes and crashes because of him. But he is ready for those tough times ahead of him, starting with the ARCA Daytona Race during the Speedweeks.

Every week is gonna be a challenge and a study to try and understand what it will be like. I’m probably going to make some mistakes, crashing cars. It all looks tough. None of it looks easy.
SVG said, as reported by Autoweek.

Retired 20214 NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick was one of the drivers who gave some solid advice to the Kiwi. He revealed that Harvick was pretty straightforward with him while advising as he told him to brace himself for some of the hardest crashes of his life this year.

I have no idea what I’m in for. Kevin Harvick has been really good for advice, talking about getting safe in the car, how to look around for things. He said just be prepared. It’s going to be the biggest hits you’re ever going to take. That’s not a nice thing to hear, but it’s reality.
