Three-time V8 Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen is set to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2024 with Trackhouse Racing. The Kiwi racer will drive full-time in the Xfinity Series for Kaulig Racing in the No:97 Chevy and will make seven starts in the Cup Series with his parent team Trackhouse Racing.

One of the primary and major tasks that’s awaiting SVG is the ovals and Superspeedways. While Gisbergen is the champion driver who has commendable race adaptability skills racing against seasoned drivers with limited experience in ovals and superspeedways that are infamous for crashes will be a hard job.

SVG got some advice about what is ahead of him from 2014 NASCAR Cup champion Kevin Harvick. The SHR legend cautioned Gisbergen that he is in for some of the biggest hist of his career at Superspeedway. It wasn’t the comfortable information he wanted to hear despite it being the fact he was going to experience it. He added that he will be changing his seating position and usage of feat for the race.

He said that I'll have hits bigger than I've ever had before, which is not nice to hear but it's a fact. I have to be ready for that and be comfortable and safe in the car. I'm going to have to change my feet and the way I sit in the car to be more safe on the ovals. That's just part of it, and making sure the seat is the same in the Xfinity car so I can slot between one and the other and be comfortable.
SVG told Motorsports.com.

Shane van Gisbergen might race in more than 40 events next season

SVG is set to race in a minimum of 40 races this season, but the number might go high as he wasn’t to experience all the Cup tracks NASCAR races in. So, this might include starting in Kansas during Xfinity off weak to race in the  Truck Series, so he gets to experience it all.

Possibly. I haven't really talked too much about it. I think there's two tracks that we don't go to in Xfinity. I think it would be helpful to at least go to that track and just experience it. I want to be able to go to every track and know them all before '25.

With the ultimate goal of landing a full-time Cup Series seat by the 2025 season, this will be the right path to choose for the Trackhouse driver. He has to use next year to establish himself as a contender and driver to invest in as he has limited time left in him since he approaching his late 30s.
