On Sunday, NASCAR Cup series fans at Sonoma  Raceway had a day to remember. They witnessed an impressive and less chaotic race where Joe Gibbs Racing Martin Truex Jr. secured the win. The entertainment didn’t end there as the track hoisted a post-race party that featured basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal as the DJ.

The four times NBA champion attended the event as DJ Diesel. It’s one of the many professions the 7-foot beast ventured into after retirement. He put on an impressive show in the infield for the fans, and they were delighted to see the NBA-pundit turned rapper vibing with them on a NASCAR track.

He got firsthand experience of how tough the drivers are and later claimed that calling NASCAR drivers non-athletes is idiotic

“Whoever said these guys aren’t athletes are out of their minds. That was the toughest three hours I’ve ever had in my life. I was fitted for a car, me and Dale raced 50 laps, and I slept for two days after that. I really did,” the LA Lakers legend said.

“I was terrified. I don’t really get scared by a lot of stuff, but I was freaking terrified. You definitely have to be a great shape to do this,” the current NBA pundit added, bashing the questions and doubts over NASCAR drivers’ fitness.
