Hendrick Motorsport is one of the dominant NASCAR teams ever to run in the Cup series and in the recent past they have been the dominant outfit in the Cup series winning nine drivers’ championships since the beginning of the 21st century with the last two wins coming in the last two season first from Chase Elliott in 2020 and Kyle Larson in 2021.

NASCAR introducing the Next-Gen car, in an effort to make the Cup race more competitive, has not been able to hinder their dominance as after 12 rounds of racing in 2022 No:9 HMS Camaro ZL1 driver Chase Elliott tops the championship table with teammate Willaim Byron at P2. All 4  drivers have secured at least a win in 2022 and Willaim Byron has done it twice earning the team a total of 5 wins this season.

Now the reigning champion Kyle Larson has come forth what reveals what he thinks is the main reason behind all the recent successes of his team as he set to chase his second win of the season at Kansas Speedway on Sunday.

Kyle Larson acknowledged that being with HMS and coming to races with three co-racers contrary to the past where the number will only be one, is a unique situation for him. He went on to say that all four drivers being young allowed them to get along really well, and work really hard. Kyle Larson acknowledged that he feels like each of them wants their teammates to get into the victory lane at any cost if they are not in contention.

I’ve only come from a team with myself and one other teammate before, so being at Hendrick Motorsports four-car team has been a little bit unique to what I was used to before, but I feel like we’re all young, we all get along, we all work really hard and really want to see each other succeed and win if we can’t win, says Kyle Larson.

Kyle Larson went on to say that he is genuinely happy for any/ of my teammate who gets a win and appreciated his teammate Willaim Byron who has been doing a great job with the team alongside his other teammates who also secured a win this season. He added that all of the HMS crew work really well together and accredited that the 4 teams working together with each other have been a strong reason behind their success. Kyle Larson expressed his opinion that if they continue like this HMS can win multiple championships down the road.

“I’m genuinely happy for any of my teammates who gets a win. William has been doing a great job. All of us have been doing a great job. Chase. Alex. We all got a win. All the mechanics and crew chiefs work really well together,” Kyle Larson said.

You know I’ve only been here a little over a year but from what I understand this is as close as these teams have ever worked together and I think that definitely plays in the results that we have each weekend. So, we just got to keep working like we are together and I think we should be able to win some more championships down the road as an organization,” Kyle Larson added.
