The 2024 NASCAR season is expected to witness some major surprises, including the rise to the top of Spire Motorsports. Corey Lejoie’s team made major investments in 2023, including purchasing Kyle Busch Motorsports assets and their mega-deal with Live Fast Motorsports for their NASCAR Cup charter.
The team made some major changes to their drivers’ line-up going into the 2024 season. Lejoie, their star man, will be joined by Carson Hocevar, who got promoted from Spire’s Truck team after an impressive 2023 season, and Zane Smith, who is loaned from Trackhouse Racing as part of a unique deal.

Spire is planning to build their future around their young star, Hocevar. Ryan Sparks, the crew chief of Lejoie and Spire’s director of competition, sees the youngster as a generational talent. He backed his argument by pointing at his impressive performance as a part-time driver with Legacy MC and in one race for Spire in 2023.
I think Carson Hocevar is a generational talent. People just haven’t really seen it yet. They saw that 42 car change their performance instantly when he got in it. When he drove the seven car at Gateway — we ended up having a brake failure — but he went from 26th to top 15 in the first stage. Just stuff that doesn’t typically happen. It’s kind of our job to manage him.Sparks said via NBC Sports.
Corey Lejoie details Spire Motorsports’ hopes for 2024
Lejoie has hopes of a solid season with Spire. He urges the team to climb the ladder slowly to reap the rewards. This starts with consistently starting to run in the top 15 and being contenders for wins in the Superspeedway races.

I think the next progression is running that 12th to 18th range as opposed to that 18th to 25th range. Just start playing with those guys a bit more. I still think we’re in a phase of walk before we can run. We’ll certainly attack the speedways with the mindset to go try to go steal one.
Lejoie earlier admitted that if his team failed to secure a win in 2024, he would be disappointed as he believes the team’s capabilities to deliver have risen due to the recent investment, and 2024 will be the time to achieve the goals set.
