Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe

The story of the whole Bristol dirt race was the final lap, as Kyle Busch stole the victory from leaders Stewart Hass Racing driver Chase Briscoe and Richard Childress Racing driver Tyler Reddick forced each other to spin out just before the finish line after the duo dominated the race leading a combined 158 laps out of the 250.

The Race was on fire at the last laps where Chase Briscoe started his advance on the leader Tyler Reddick as the duo went bumper to Bumper till the last turn, where the luck ran out for them, where Chase Briscoe attempted a slider with his No:14 car on Reddick’s No:8 which caused both of them to spin out.

Kyle Busch who was struggling to get near the leaders used the opportunity to secure his first win in 2022. Tyler Reddick was able to return to the track to secure a P2 finish just ahead of Joey Logano but the spun-out Chase Briscoe was only able to finish at P22.

Chase Briscoe acknowledged that he was the one who hit Tyler Reddick after his slider caused him to spin and hit Reddick forcing both of them out of contention for a win. He went on to say he feel terrible as he just wanted a clean race and win without wrecking anyone, which didn’t happen. Chase Briscoe went on to reiterate he was 100% to blame for the incident and he was just racing for the win against his friend Tyler Reddick.

I was running Tyler (Reddick) down and I just tried throwing a slider. I didn’t expect him to drive in there on me and I was spinning out, I think, either way, and I hit him. I feel terrible. I was wanting to race him clean. I wasn’t going to wreck him for the win. That’s why I tried to slide him and I was trying to leave him enough room if I didn’t get there and that was my fault, 100 percent,” Chase Briscoe said.

“I hate it for Tyler. He’s a good friend of mine and I wanted to see a dirt guy win if it wasn’t me. That was just racing. I was trying to go for the win and I feel terrible for him,“- Chase Briscoe added.
