NASCAR cup series teams will hit the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second time this season for the 19th round of cup racing as the regular-season hit the final race weeks before the playoffs. Fans will be expecting to see an intense race day on Sunday at the track as the limited number of playoff spots and race days put the Atlanta race in high demand for drivers chasing the regular-season championship or a playoff spot.

Though the No:48 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver for HendrickMotorsports, Alex Bowman is not in any of this discussion he will be hoping to get himself set for the playoff, which he secured the spots for earlier this season with the Vegas Cup race win, which can place him in the right spot in the championship run. Bowman’s battle isn’t just limited to the whole grid he has an in-team battle to win as he will be hoping one day to be the HMS driver just like what Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott are for the team right now.

Alex Bowman when talking about his hopes for the coming race acknowledged that they had a good run earlier this season at Atlanta and though there are a lot of challenges such as the likes of the Next-Gen car, and the new re-pavement he is confident that he will be able to pull off a good run with the help from the data they had from last time and the effort put in by his team in improving the car.

We had a good No. 48 Ally Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 last time we were at Atlanta (Motor Speedway). Obviously, there are still a lot of challenges with the Next-Gen car and the repave, but our guys work hard to put us in the best position every weekend and I am confident that they will look at the information we have from last time to improve on our car,” Alex Bowman said.

He added that he is hoping that he can win the technical race that is in front of him at Atlanta with the new paint scheme he got saying “The racing is pretty technical, so I am looking forward to getting out there in our new scheme and trying to get it to victory lane on Sunday,”.

Alex Bowman’s crew chief when talking about the race they took a gamble at points last time at Road America as they had an opportunity to score stage points though they had dismay by a finish at the end but added that they will take the 33 points he scored last weekend. He went on to say that it was a step forward for them from the DNF at Nashville so they are working on the back of that to control things at their hand to aim for the win in Atlanta.

We had an opportunity to score stage points in the first stage at Road America and I felt confident that Alex (Bowman) could drive to the front, so we took a gamble for points, and it paid off. We weren’t happy with our finish, but we will definitely take the 33 points he earned on track last weekend,” Greg Ives said.

It was a step forward after not finishing the race at Nashville, so we will lean on the success, work on what we can control, and look to be there at the end of this Sunday in Atlanta,” Greg Ives added.
