Tyler Reddick wins Indy cup race

Tyler Reddick kissed the bricks on Indy as he secures his second career win and his second road course win a the iconic track. The soon-to-be 23X1 Racing driver drove his No:8 Richard Childress Racing Chevy Camaro ZL1 to the victory lane in a dominant fashion toping most of the race statics and was helped by the intense battle that took place behind him in the final restarts.

The final restart of the 82-lap race, on lap 78, saw the race getting extended to overtime restart as Erick Jones and Reddick RCR teammate Austin Dillon spurned out on turn 4 after the crazy restart which saw drivers going five wide to turn 1. Though Ross Chastain went for a cheeky shot in turn 1 to overtake Reddick for the lead he was able to get back with ease and secure his second win of 2022.

A physically exhausted AJ Allmendinger wasn’t able to run down Reddick in the final result while Ryan Blaney, one of the winless drivers of 2022 that holds the playoff spot, was spurned from behind and most of his co-front runners at the final restart couldn’t make into the front as the intense battle and traffic proved too much for them all of which helped few of the midfield runners to make their way to the front and Reddick to get to the top.
