The Truck series playoff is not out of reach for Hailie Deegan in 2023

Hailie Deegan lost her truck seat following DGR’s move to TRD after the conclusion of the 2022 season. Deegan, who is yet to win a Truck Series race, started plotting for an Xfinity series promotion. Her plans didn’t work, as the limited presence of Ford in the series curtailed her efforts to land a full-time seat.
The Californian native had fortune on her side as she signed a deal to race for championship-winning Truck side ThorSports in 2022. The move became possible after the team decided to return to Ford garage after a successful stint with TRD. Deegan will drive the No:13 truck alongside her three teammates in the 2023 season.
The team has welcomed Deegan with open arms and has provided her with a competitive crew for next year. The team wants to get her to the victory lane, and the 2021 champion crew chief Rich Lushes‘s appointment to the side is an example. Lushes is confident of the team and driver’s quality and hopes for a playoff spot next season.
“I think she’s in a really good place now mentally as far as she knows that she’s going to have a really good shot next year to be competitive, and we’re going to have a really good team, and hopefully, like I said, we’re going to get some top 10s. I don’t think it’s out of reach at all for us to make the playoffs next year,” Lushes told NASCAR SiruxFM Radio.

2021 Truck champion Ben Rhodes says the 2023 season is time for Hailie Deegan to stamp her place in the sport
Ben Rhodes lost his crew chief, Rich Lushes, to Deegan even before her announcement. But Rhodes has no issues with it and pointed out that she now has the perfect opportunity to prove her worth. He claims that ThorSport is the supposed fair shake she needs to succeed.
“What I can say for her at ThorSport is she should be really, really, excited because if she believes that she wasn’t given a fair shake, she’s going to get it now. This, I would consider, is her time to go and stamp her name and say this is what I can do,” Ben Rhodes said.
Hailie Deegan has everything a budding driver could ask for at Thosrports. Along with the technological superiority they have, they also possess invaluable experience. Their driver’s lineup consists of 3-time Truck champion Matt Crafton and Ty Majeski alongside Rhodes. She can acquire immeasurable wisdom from them by just sharing the garage.
