“Special Place and Special win,” The Truex brothers proved themselves at Monster mile
Martin Truex Jr. and Ryan Truex are the first sibling duo to win NASCAR events on the same weekend for the same team.

The 2023 Dover Motor Speedway witnessed an impressive race week, though the Cup race getting postponed to Monday disappointed many. Many fans got what they wanted as the Truex brothers swept the race week. Ryan Truex Jr. won the Xfinity Series race, while his big brother and Cup series champion Martin Truex Jr. won the Cup event.
Ryan Truex’s win was the most special win among the two as he proved to the NASCAR community that he deserves everything he has earned so far on the track and more. With the win in the No:19 JGR Toyota Supra, he might have already secured a full-time seat for 2023. It took him 188 career starts to score his maiden win. The main reason for the delay is that most of his starts weren’t in a car capable of winning.
Big brother Martin Truex Jr. on the other hand, had nothing to prove as the 2017 Cup champion has already established that he is one of the best of his generation. However, some fans called him to prove he made the right call to postpone retirement and extend his contract to 2023 last year. He achieved that success by winning his 4th Cup race at Dover, making him the winningest driver on the track. Three of the four wins came in Monday races.
“It’s just special, you know; this is a special place. Good day for my family and to see Ryan win Saturday; he’s worked so hard for so long to get good opportunities, and it’s awesome. And then for us, we’ve given away a few here over the years, so it’s nice to see it come around our way. Just excited and had a hot rod. Just needed to get it out front,” Martin Truex Jr. said about his win.

Ryan Truex had a lot to prove in Dover, and he did just that
Ryan Truex, just like his big brother, had to earn everything he had in his racing career, as he never got the benefit of having to suck a big surname. Martin Truex Jr. spends many years in midfield cars grinding out results before becoming one of the best in the premier division. But he was fortunate to have full-time rides. Ryan Truex, on the other hand, didn’t have the luxury, and many in the NASCAR community lost their faith in him other than people close to him.
“I’m just so thankful, all these fans, my team, stuck behind me. Most people didn’t believe in me, and I still did — my girlfriend, my family, my parents, and my brother did. I’m just so thankful to be here,” Ryan Truex said.
“I belong here, and I just proved that. I’ve known it for a while, and people around me have known it for a while. And now everyone in this garage area knows it. My goal is to drive a race car full-time next year, and hopefully, we can make it happen,” Ryan Truex added.
