Bubba Wallace had his best cup season in 2022 as he figured a career-high P19 in the championship. The 23X1 Racing driver secured his second cup win this season at Kansas and scored his first carer pole. He also emerged as the face of NASCAR in its latest establishment, the  Chicago Street Race, which will debut in 2023.

Wallace drove the No:23 and 45 cars of 23X1 following Kurt Busch’s concussion and secured five top 5s and ten top 10s. Both of these are his best single-season stats in the cup series. Bubba started the season in high colors finishing P2 in the season opener at Daytona, but that remained the only highlight of his first half.

Pitstop mishaps and poor runs plagued his progress. He came back strong in the second half of the season and scored some impressive top 10s but failed to secure a win to get into the season finale. He secured his second career win in the Kansas playoff race in the No:45 car. Kurt Busch had won the regular season race at the track.

The reactions from fans were mixed, which is understandable as Bubba is one of the most divisive figures in NASCAR for many reasons. Some fans claimed his new teammate Tyler Reddick would outperform Bubba by a mile and have an average season. At the same time, some were optimistic about Bubba’s chances in 23 as they predicted multiple wins from him.
