The latest addition to NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers is Chase Elliott. The sanctioning body revealed on Friday. Elliott is the second driver in the current lineup for Hendrick Motorsports to be named to this list. The first was Kyle Larson. Chase Elliott is a chip of the old block as his father, Bill Elliott, was also named to the list of 75 Greatest Drivers in 1998. Hall of Fame driver Bill won the Cup Series championship in 1988. He was also 16 times the Most Popular Driver.

By the looks of it, Chase Elliott is on his way to greatness too. The 27-year-old won the NASCAR Cup Series title in 2020. And like his father Bill, he was named its Most Popular Driver for five years. For a driver his age, the record is impressive. Elliott joined Hendrick Motorsports at the age of 19 in 2015. Since then, he has had 259 starts, 18 wins, 139 top-ten finishes, and 12 poles in the Cup Series.

The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion was also named Rookie of the Year in 2016; he was picked over Chris Buescher and Ryan Blaney. There were several close calls, and Elliott finally won his first Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International in 2018. He had three wins in 2018 and three in 2019. His fans celebrated him. In 2020, Elliott won five times. The Georgia native also earned the win in the All-Star Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Chase Elliott became the third youngest driver in history to win the Cup Series Championship for Hendrick Motorsports. It was the 13th title for Rick Hendrick. Apart from his success in the Cup Series, Elliott won five Xfinity Series races. He had 82 starts between 2014 and 2016. With five wins, sixty-six top-ten finishes, and two poles, Elliott proved himself in the Xfinity Series.
