Martin Truex Jr. proved his worth to the doubters in his home track, Dover, last Sunday, securing his first point-winning race win, ending 53 race droughts. His brother Ryan Truex scored his maiden NASCAR win in the Xfinity series earlier on Saturday. The Truex family was in for another pleasant surprise as the JGR veteran was named to the list of 75 greatest drivers of all time.

The 2017 Cup champion is among the most deserving candidates for entry. His patience and no-quitting attitude earned him all the accolades he has won. Trues Jr. started his career in the Karting scene in New Jersey before moving to the Modified tour. He followed in his father’s footsteps as he moved to the Mecca of NASCAR, Charlotte, at 18, hoping to establish himself in the Xfinity Series, then the Busch Series.

From 1999 to 2003, he spent his time making a name for himself in the Busch series part-time and in the Busch North series driving for a family-owned team. In 2004 he joined Chance 2 Motorsports in the second division and won back-to-back championships. His early-day success came with Chevy, but their car manufacturer didn’t offer him the same success in the premier division.

His Cup series debut came in Dale Earnhardt, Inc. in 2004. He was given a full-time shot with the team in 2006 after Xfinity’s triumph. His maiden win in the series came in 2007 at his home cup track Dover. He joined Michael Waltrip Racing in 2010, and in his year on the team, he won his second-ever Cup race. Truex Jr. then joined Furniture Row Racing and produced impressive putting, and won the Cup in 2017. He joined JGR in 2019 and has since been driving the No:19 Toyota Camry.

He has won 32 Cup races, and his 2017 title from 621 races starts at the premier division. He has secured 13 wins in the Xfinity Series and one in the Truck Series. The 2018 ESPY Driver of the Year had also finished p2 in the championship three times in his career, a testament to his incredible consistency when he was given a competitive ride.
