Lewis Hamilton is one of the most well-known personalities of Formula One. Having won the championship seven times, he has a huge fan following and is a role model to many up-and-coming drivers. Recently, NASCAR’s 23XI racing driver Tyler Reddick named Hamilton one of his role models.

Reddick was asked by The Athletic about the one person he would be star-struck by when meeting him. Reddick revealed that person to be Lewis Hamilton, saying he would probably freeze if he ever met him. Reddick had also revealed earlier in May this year that Lewis Hamilton is one of his role models from F1.

“Lewis Hamilton. That’d be the one… I don’t know. That’s the problem. (Laughs) I would probably freeze for a minute and think about what I was gonna say next. Have that awkward pause, you know? [Reddick on meeting Hamilton],” Reddick told The Athletic.

Reddick is currently in 12th position in the Cup Series Standings. He has qualified for the playoffs this season and is looking towards his teammate, Bubba Wallace, to join him as he lies on the edge of the qualification.

As NASCAR heads into its final race of the regular season in Daytona, all eyes are slowly turning towards the drivers who have qualified for the playoffs. One of those drivers is Tyler Reddick, who has secured one win this season to take him through to the second half of the season. As the regular season ends, Reddick recently stated that he is very optimistic going into the playoffs after the pit crew struggles he has seen this season.

23XI Racing made a big move this season by breaking their alliance with JGR and bringing in their pit crew. While the team became more self-sufficient, the lack of experience of the new crew has been very hurtful for Reddick this season. However, Reddick told the media that they have good speed and are consistent. He said the team will hopefully learn from their mistakes and produce their desired results.

“We get the finishes that we probably should be getting. But the speed’s there, right? And how we’re getting it is been consistent. So we’re just going to keep pushing on that front and hopefully, the things that have been mistakes, the lessons along the way stick. And you know we can just hit our marks and execute when it matters,” said Reddick.
