A.J. Allmendinger was a wild card in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. The race at Charlotte held high stakes for many drivers since it was the last in the R-12. However, Allmendinger came in and took the win home for himself, even though he never qualified for the playoffs. This was his third career win in the Cup Series, with his last victory coming in at Indianapolis in 2021.
After the race, Allmendinger got very emotional and was spotted celebrating with the fans. While hugging and celebrating with the people, Allmendinger grabbed a can of beer from one of them and sprayed it all over himself.
Allmendinger showed some great driving prowess in the race. In the final laps, he was closed in by William Byron. But Allmendinger kept him at bay and finished just 0.666 seconds ahead of him. After the race, he was spotted running under the fence to celebrate with his fans.
Allmendinger’s victory was surely a big one for both him and the team. Kaulig Racing is just into its second season in the Cup Series and has already shown signs of great potential. Allmendinger came to tears during his post-race interview, saying that this is why he races.

Fans get emotional on social media after A.J Allmendinger’s win at the ROVAL
Allmendinger grabbed his third career Cup win at Charlotte. The 42-year-old has won at the track consecutively for the last five years. Four of his victories came in the Xfinity series from 2019 to 2022, and the latest was added yesterday. After breaking into tears in the post-race interview, fans have poured their affection and support towards him on social media.
One user joked that since he did not get an Xfinity win at the track this season, he simply took it in the Cup Series. Another user claimed that he is one of the best NASCAR drivers. One fan urged him to stay in the Cup Series next year and not move back to Xfinity. Another fan said, “Sorry I cried my eyes out when AJ Allmendinger won the Charlotte Roval race,”
Allmendinger’s surprise victory has put him in the spotlight for NASCAR. His sudden increase in form has resulted in the elimination of many experienced drivers from the playoffs. Those drivers include Bubba Wallace, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, and Ross Chastain.
