Richard Childress Racing driver Kyle Busch has been going through mixed results in the last four races. After ending his impressive seven-race stretching Top 10 finish streak at New Hampshire, it has been either a good day or disaster for the Chevy driver. He scored finishes outside the top 20 on both NHMS and Pocono.  He bounced back in Richmond with a P3, but bad luck again hit him.

He crashed in Michigan on Sunday after an incident involving Ryan Blaney of Team Penske Racing. The duo was contending for a P10 earlier in stage one of the race, which was postponed to Monday. Busch drove on the inside while Blaney was racing on the inside before the incident. The No:12 Mustang bumped the No:8 Chevy Camaro ZL1, and Busch lost the air and slammed into the wall after losing control of his car.

Busch was able to get his car back to the garage, and the damage was too significant for him to continue racing. He retired, and he will be credited a P37 finish. He will not be able to run the reaming 126 laps of the race that will be run on Monday. This will be the second time he will get a dead last finish in four races, with the first coming in New Hampshire. It is only the fourth finish outside the top 30 four the two times Cup champion this season.

The 2009 Xfinity Series champion was frustrated after another disappointing result to his race that deprived him of the opportunities to score playoff points that could negatively affect him going into the last 16 races. This also affects the positive momentum they have hoped to build with the podium’s previous race.

Busch said he expected his rival to react with a lack of respect while racing compared to the old days. He claimed that drivers nowadays race to crash as they will never let drivers pass if they are slow. Busch added that he crashed because Blaney took the air off.

They all run hard. They all want to race to crash and, you know, I tried to make a move, and in the old days, guys who you‘re racing, they let you go and have that spot and work for it later, but this day and age it‘s completely different. So I got a guy that ran on my outside and took the air off,” Kyle Busch said after getting released from the infield care center.
