Noah Gregson replaced Bowman in the Camaro ZL1. He has put in some impressive runs so far. Bowman is cleared to race at Martinsville. But HMS decided not to do so. HMS President Jeff Andrews said, “Due to the timing (of the medical clearance), everyone agreed it was best to stick with our plan for Martinsville and allow the team to prepare for Alex’s return next weekend fully,”.

Alex Bowman was treated at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Sports Medicine Concussion Program clinical director, Dr. Micky Collins. Collins was the doctor who treated NASCAR Hall Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr’s concussion when he was with HMS in 2016.

Jeff Andrews praised Noah Gregson for stepping up and being a complete professional so far. he said, “On behalf of everyone at Hendrick Motorsports, we’re grateful to Noah for stepping in and doing a terrific job under difficult circumstances. He’s a big talent and has been a complete professional,”.
