NASCAR will hit the Kansas Speedway on Sunday for the 12th round of cup series racing and fans are hoping to see a blast in the 1.5-mile oval following the chaotic finish to the Darlington throwback weekend which saw Joey Logano securing his maiden win of 2022. The Kansas City track will see drivers going all in to secure a win that can secure them a spot in the playoff as the unique track outings this season comes to an end.

Joe Gibbs Racing will be the team to watch out for in Kansas as the Toyota giants have been historically dominating the tracks, The 2022 season so hasn’t been a fruitful ride for JGR as they were only able to secure two wins so far one from Denny Hamlin and another one coming from Kyle Busch, which is also the only win’s so far for Toyota.

Martin Truex Jr. who drives the No:19 Toyota Camry JGR will be hitting the track to ensure a 3ed win in the Kansas track to add to the good finishes he had so far in the track. The 2017 Champion secured his last Kansas win in the same year as his championship run and also has finished in the top 10 nine times out of the last 10 rounds of racing there which also includes five consecutive top 10s.  

Now the veteran has come forth expressing his thoughts on the upcoming race weekends and his expectations.

Martin Truex Jr. acknowledged that he is alongside his team and is excited to go to Kansas as his crew chief James Small has been able to put out promising cars in the last few weeks and he hopes to see that momentum continues.

Kansas has been a good place for us the last handful of years, so I think we’re all excited to go there. James (Small, crew chief) and the guys have been bringing great cars to the track and that has been promising with how well we’ve run the last few weeks,” Martin Truex Jr. said.

He went on to say that he needs to avoid some mistakes that usually cost them a good finish at the end of the day and added that he is excited about the progress they have made in the last few weeks. He went on to add that he is hopeful that his team might be able to continue the run and put themself in contention for the championship.
