Trackhouse Racing has announced that the No:99 Chevy Camaro ZL1 team will use the vintage Quaker State livery as a tribute to NASCAR legend Ricky Rudd for the Darlington Raceway Cup race as part of Throwback weekend. The 600 Mile Cup race event in South Carolina is an occasion that the NASCAR community uses to honor the sport’s legends. Teams will use vintage paint schemes in honor of such drivers.

Daniel Suarez, the Mexican NASCAR driver, will use the occasion to Ricky Rudd, one of the toughest drivers to ever race in the sport. The Quaker State sponsors the car. They weren’t initially the sponsors for the event, but the decision was taken under certain circumstances, and I enabled them to field a unique car for the fans to remember Rudd once again. It pays homage to the No:26 King Racing Buick Rudd used to race in 1988.

The scheme uses a green, gold, and white base and also uses the exact font Rudd use for door numbers. While talking about paying homage to the legend, Suarez said he wants the new generation to remember how big Rudd was in his prime years. He wants to teach the young generation about the legend’s accomplishments.

I watched a video of Ricky’s career the other day, and it’s obvious that he was a great driver and tough man. We hope this paint scheme reminds the older generation of fans of happy times watching Ricky Rudd race and teaches the younger generation about his accomplishments,” Daniel Suarez said in a press release.
