The racing community is still in shock over the Super Star Racing Experience announcement. It was once expected to become the new IROC after signing the Thursday Night Thunder deal with ESPN. But the series has now experienced a premature and sudden stoppage, even though all plans for the new season were already made.
The series was co-owned by former Cup champion Tony Stewart, who was a regular in the series. Over the years, SRX events have featured legendary drivers such as Ryan Newman, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, and Kenny Wallace. The superstars coming to the tracks every race attracted many fans to the venue.
Announcing the postponement of the plans via a statement, SRX pointed out that it is disappointing for them to say their goodbyes. Still, the unfortunate circumstances had forced them to make the tough decision. SRX admitted that the market factors are not in their favor, and they have failed to evolve according to the needs of the industry.
It is with deep disappointment that we announce the postponement of SRX’s fourth season. We entered the next phase of our racing series with great anticipation and excitement for what was ahead. Our expectations, however, have been tempered by market factors that have proven too much to overcome.SRX said via Statement.

What’s ahead of SRX?
The immediate future SRX seems dark, as they have entered into a phase where many such series’ like them have found themselves in and never got out. The fact that the IROC is returning makes their move more interesting.
It is clear that the SRX Series, with its subpar viewership despite having such a huge deal with ESPN, made the sponsors double-think their decisions. Their primary motive is to get to more potential customers via marketing, and if that isn’t going to happen, SRX is a poor investment.
This has put Tony Stewart, who is already going through a lot, in a tough situation. He has much mess to clean up at Stewart Haas Racing after the underwhelming 2023 season and has his drag racing career to take care of. SRX has now become a bigger and harder responsibility.
