Why did Ty Dillon join Spire Motorsports?

Ty Dillon will join Spire Motorsports next season to drive for their No:77 car. He will drive alongside Corey LaJoie in the No:7 team. Dillon, who currently racing for Petty GMS in the cup, mutually ended his contract with the team midway through the season.

Ty Dillon, who is the grandson of RCR owner Richard Childress and brother of Austin Dillon, has been driving in the cup series for the last six years. The No:77 team has been running part-time for the last two years and will run full-time this season with Ty Dillon. Dillon refused multiple offers from the Xfinity series to remain in the top tier of NASCAR.

Ty Dillon said, after the announcement, that he believes that Spire is heading in the right direction. He wants to raise the level of competition together with LaJoie. He said, “The organization is heading in the right direction, and I’m excited to be a part of bringing the No. 77 up to where Corey has been running. Hopefully, we raise the whole level of competition together,”.

Ty Dillon acknowledged that he is thankful for the opportunity to race for the spire. He added that he is excited to race for a very hungry team. Dillon pointed out that the No:7 team of team Corey LaJoie has been growing year after year and has developed to be competitive.

I’m thankful for this opportunity, a new beginning with a very hungry team that is excited about the future. Spire Motorsports has been growing year after year when you look at the way that Corey and the No. 7 team have developed to be competitive,” Ty Dillon said.

Ty Dillon said that he is excited about being LaJoie’s teammate and wants to become successful with the team. He added that he is looking forward to taking Spire to new heights in the future.

I’m excited to be a teammate. To me, as a team, high tides raise all ships and I want to be a part of all of us being successful. One person doesn’t have to fail for the other to be successful, and I’m looking forward to us, as Spire Motorsports, growing and bringing the program to new heights,” Ty Dillon added.
